Weight loss and healthy eating books

The first book I have purchased and it's a very good book and comes with a hypnosis CD.

Some work out DVDs

Here are some of the best current fitness DVDs. Personally, I have only tried the Davina work out and I love it so I can highly recommend it. There are a few different routines on there so you don't have to do the same one all the time, i get bored really easily so it's a great DVD for me.

Week One - Commencing 27th January 2009

Before I start in case you are wondering, I started my diet on a Tuesday.

Day one:

Ok, so I started my diet today. It went quite smoothly, my way of thinking is to just take one day at a time.

I have cut down or cut out several of my eating favorites such as cheese and crisps. I have also cut down on my alcohol intake as I would drink beer quite a lot. I have tried to limit it to once or twice a week rather than every other day. I'm also gonna try and drink a lot more water than I have been doing.

My exercise consisted of 30 minutes of dancing and constant moving. I also did weights briefly.

I'm quite pleased with how the first day went.

Day Two:

I weighed myself today and I weight 19 stone and 2 lbs.

I went shopping today to stock up on healthy foods. I also bought some healthy food to have if i'm hungry between meals such as fruit and low fat biscuits. I also bought some soup to have for lunch. For evening meals I bought some fish, skinless chicken and some red meat but not too much, I love my red meat so can't stop eating that all together but I have definitely cut down on it.

My exercising was pretty much the same as day one except for I also went for a walk.

Day Three:

Today I had a slight slip, although I continued to eat healthily I didn't do much exercising. I did some weights but that was about it.

I try and do exercising everyday so that if I miss the odd day it doesn't matter as much.

Day Four:

I started a fitness DVD i purchased today, It was the Davina Super Body Work Out. I did the first work out on the disc which is 40 minutes long including a warm up and cool down. I recommend this DVD highly as if you are like me and I do the same exercises everyday I get bored and eventually stop doing them, with this DVD you get several different work outs so you don't have to stick to the same work out all the time. It's very exhausting the first time you do the work out but It really makes you feel like you've achieved something afterwards.

I've still managed to keep up with the healthy eating as well and watching what I eat.

Day Five:
I took a day off today from exercising. I still watched what I ate but mainly focussed on my University work.

Day Six:
I weighed myself today and I have lost 5lbs, i'm really pleased with that and think it's a very good start to the diet.
I went back to my exercise DVD today and did a 40 minute work out. I felt really good afterward, like i'd achieved something.
I had 3 meals like a normally do, it's not good to skip meals. For breakfast I had two slices of toast, for lunch I had chicken soup and for dinner I had fish and rice.

Day Seven:
Today for exercise I went for a 30 minute walk to make a change. I tend to walk everywhere anyway but I did extra walking today.
Again I had 3 meals, breakfast and lunch was the same as the day before, for dinner I had weight watchers chips, carrots and skinless chicken.

Introduction

Hi Everyone.

I've been struggling with my weight most of my life. I'm tired of constantly being depressed about my weight and I need to do something about it.

I set up this blog mainly for myself but also to help other people who want to lose weight and they can follow my progress.

I have cut out or cut down on my biggest weaknesses such as cheese, crisps, fast food and beer. Chocolate is not a problem for me, i could easily cut that out for good.

I am also keeping a food diary to keep track of what I eat and drink and the exercise I do.

From what I have learnt in the past it's not good to cut out meals, so i'm going to try and eat 3 meals a day but the meals will be healthy or low fat options rather than the fattening food I ate before.

I'm not a doctor so what I say on this blog is from what I have experienced and from my own opinions.
